Cathiard Vineyard 2021 – Napa Valley

(100% Cabernet Sauvignon) The nose reveals notes of roasted strawberry, crushed blackberry and small notes of crushed cassis and offers notes of bigarreau cherry, associated with touches of roasted-elegant fruit, as well as hints of balsamic, licorice and fine hints of cinnamon, vanilla, black olive, licorice stick and a side sense of the place. The palate is well-built, fresh, mineral and offers lovely acidity, a tangy frame, tension, precision, brilliance of fruit, a stretched side and energy. In mouth this wine expresses notes of quite ripe/juicy cassis, morello cherry and small notes of fresh raspberry, small brilliant red fruits, as well as fine hints of rhubarb and discreet hints of toast and chocolate. A textured side and 3D on the finish. Good length. Mellow tannins. A well-built wine and offers freshness, tension and precision. Good chocolate and licorice persistence. Beautiful maturity, freshness and minerality. A hint of bright blueberry.
