Arkenstone Estate 2021 Howell Mountain – Napa Valley

The nose is elegant, airy, precise, beautifully delicate and fine and offers power in delicacy, deepness in precision and a certain light intensity. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of concentrated small fruits, associated with touches of small brilliant-roasted red fruits and a hint of olive, as well as a subtle hint of sense of the place. The palate is well-built, fresh, supple, gourmand and offers a tangy frame, nicely fresh and mineral, elegant and offers deepness. In mouth this wine expresses notes of pulpy cassis, brilliant blackberry and small notes of bright/fresh raspberry, associated with touches of crushed redcurrant, hints of cornflower, tonka bean, blond tobacco, as well as fine hints of smoke, cardamom, a subtle hint of caramelization and a discreet hint of sappy in the background. Well-built. Tannins are mellow and tasty. A nicely fresh, gourmand wine.
