Château Pierrail, Les Hauts de Naudon 2022 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The wine has a deep ruby color with purple highlights. The initial nose is fruity and juicy, with precise aromas of blackcurrant, morello cherry, black plum, red cherry, crushed raspberry and crisp strawberry. After aeration there are also herbaceous notes of peppermint, blackcurrant leaf, black tea as well as dark chocolate, savory spices (liquorice, tonka bean, vanilla), dark chocolate, morello cherry in chocolate and toasted notes (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood), along with a hint of peony and prunes in chocolate. The boche is velvety, supple and enveloping, with a gourmet chocolate side (morello cherry in chocolate, prunes in chocolate), toasted notes (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood) and spices (licorice, vanilla, tonka bean in the background), wrapped in a ripe and juicy fruity material (morello cherry, tangy red cherry, crushed raspberry, strawberry, red currants, black plum, blackcurrant). The tannins have a fairly firm structure and a fine grain. Good length with a salivating acidity and a hint of peony.
