Clos Bertineau – Merlot 2022 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The nose is aromatic, elegant, with power, offering beautiful intensity, purity and elegant darkness. There are notes of wild blackberry, cornflower and more delicately small wild blue fruits, combined with touches of Madagascar pepper as well as a hint of infusion and spices. The palate is fruity, marked by a beautiful minerality, a fresh structure, suppleness, good definition and a certain juiciness. There is minerality and tension, with verticality. We find notes of pulpy blackberry, juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, more specifically blueberry associated with touches of blue plum, small wild berries as well as hints of black pepper, infusion/rosemary and discreet hints of spices. In the background, a fine sappy and nicely iodized note. Good length. The wine offers freshness, suppleness, roundness and gourmandness. A nice little chew on the finish with good persistence.
