The nose is fragrant, roasted and smoky at the opening (we find the integrated notes of
roasted meat, roasted red cherry, smoke in the background). Then, the nose expresses the
aromas of ripe fruits – fresh, even dried bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, crushed strawberry, blackcurrant, a mentholated nuance (dried mint, pine needles, a little rosemary), sweet spices (liquorice, star anise in the background, cardamom), as well as a toasted touch
(toasted hazelnut, chocolate, a tangy hint of cocoa nibs) and a floral bouquet in the background (violet, lilac). The palate is a little more closed and tangy. It expresses in
particular the flavors of morello cherry, blueberry, blackcurrant, bigarreau cherry), associated with spicy notes of liquorice, cardamom, a hint of white pepper, fresh and toasted wood, toasted hazelnut, tangy nibs. Tannins are grippy, but have a fine grain. The finish is on bird cherry, with a salivating acidity, which balances tannins. Straightness, freshness, a beautiful tangy frame, liveliness, but the wine is closed at the moment.
