Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse 2022 – Pauillac, Grand Cru Classé

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse 2022 – Pauillac, Grand Cru Classé

The nose offers concentration, depth, density, complexity and freshness. It expresses the
aromas of rich and fresh fruits – blackcurrant, morello cherry, wild strawberry, red currant,
crushed raspberry, bird cherry, notes of refined and pleasant sweet spices (liquorice, slightly
sweet vanilla, cardamom, cubeb pepper, grated nutmeg), aromatic herbs (dried mint,
rosemary, a touch of thyme and dried pine needles), an elegant floral bouquet (violet,
peony), a minty and chocolatey touch (dark chocolate with mint, tangy cocoa nibs), gourmet
and refined toasted touches (hazelnut, almond). The palate is tasty, straight, expressive and
fresh. We find the flavors of ripe fruits (blackcurrant, morello cherry, wild strawberry,
raspberry), accompanied by a good bitterness of bird cherry), sweet spices (liquorice, vanilla,
cardamom), an airy floral bouquet (violet, peony). Beautiful fresh and solid tannic structure,
with finesse of grain, elegance and firmness. We also find woody and herbaceous touches
(dried mint, pine needles), as well as a tangy side of cocoa nibs. The finish is persistent,
savoury and refined, chocolatey and toasted, with a lot of elegance.
