Château Gruaud Larose 2022 – Saint-Julien, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is racy, elegant and precise, with an elegant, fine, fresh grain. It reveals notes of ripe/fresh wild cassis, menthol/sappy and small notes of fresh little wild red berries, associated with touches of nutmeg, lily as well as discreet hints of cornflower and fresh gravel. There are also notes of violets and cherry blossom, with a hint of infusion and Madagascar pepper. The palate is well-built, fresh, supple and airy, with good energy, a tangy frame, tension, precision, melodiousness side, fine concentration and gourmandise. The palate also offers light, supple and airy grain. It expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, pulpy/fresh cassis and small notes of small fresh red berries, associated with touches of cornflower and fresh lily, as well as fine hints of fresh cherry, discreet hints of zan, star anise, chocolate, toasted/torrefied almond and fine hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Good length. Nicely juicy/brilliant, with good energy and very beautiful brilliance. Depth and freshness marked by elegant gravel. Tannins are racy, elegant and enveloping. A wine that benefits from decanting. Good persistence.
