Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2022 – Saint-Julien, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, elegant, racy, deep, precise and delicate. It reveals notes of creamy blackberry, blueberry and small notes of roasted-elegant redcurrants, bright blueberry, associated with touches of small creamy fruits, as well as discreet, almost balsamic hints and a hint almost of zan. There’s also a very discreet hint of aromatic herbs, infusion and a subtle balsamic hint. The palate is well-built, supple, fresh, mineral, racy, with a tangy frame, precision, juiciness, tension as well as energy. A beautifully velvety, fresh wine with a dense, precise, and fine texture. In mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, pulpy/juicy cherry and small notes of violet, associated with touches of fresh racy gravel, iodine, small roasted-elegant red fruits, chocolate, balsamic, fine hints of toasted almond, toasted hazelnut and a discreet hint of vanilla. Tannins are elegant and offer a certain chalkiness. Chewy and delicious. Fresh, crisp, and multi-layered. Good length. An almost sappy hint.
