Château Léoville Poyferré 2022 – Saint-Julien, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, elegant, racy, « frank », precise, delicate, complex, with a multi-layered/3D side, a lovely, fine, well-built grain. It reveals notes of boysenberry, cubeb pepper and strawberry, associated with a touch of small roasted-elegant fruits as well as hints of violet and tobacco. The palate is well-built, supple, elegant, deep, aromatic, mineral, delicate, airy, « frank » and offers an elegant darkness, a beautiful infusion side as well as precision. In mouth this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, crushed cherry, and more lightly violet, associated with touches of violet plum, as well as hints of roasted-elegant strawberry, fine hints of chocolate, toastiness, toasted almonds and salinity.  Tannins are delicious, precise, mellow and fine. Silky, delicate, airy power with finesse. A subtle hint of eucalyptus and fresh violets in the background. Good length. Fresh, supple and mineral wine.
