The nose is toasted, gourmand with a lovely textured/grain in finesse and power and complexity, it benefits from decanting. It reveals notes of boysenberry, violet small notes of graphene, associated with touches of crushed strawberry and small dense red fruits, as well as hints of Cubèbe pepper, warm gravel and a subtle hint of smoke and sappy. The palate is well-built, supple, juicy, pulpy, with gourmandise and a mineral frame. It expresses notes of creamy blackberry, juicy/pulpy cassis small notes of creamy redcurrant, associated with touches of bigarreau cherry, cardamom, smoke, sweet tobacco as well as fine hints of hazelnut and mocha. Good length, with a hint of infusion, sage, almost a discreet hint of Mediterranean in the background (thyme…). Tannins are mellow and racy. A wine with persistence and a hint of good varietal bitterness in the background.
