The first nose is woody and toasted, but not very pronounced, quite integrated, refined. We find notes of toasted hazelnut, cocoa, a hint of coffee bitterness and tanginess of cocoa nibs. The fruits on the nose are tangy and juicy (morello cherry, cassis, black plum in the background, bigarreaux, ripe strawberry), and are associated with sweet spices (liquorice, cardamom, crushed black pepper in the background) and dried herbs (dried mint, dried tea, dried pine needles), as well as a touch of elegant violet. The palate has a sappy attack (pine bark and sap), a juicy fruitiness (morello cherry, cassis, black plum, bigarreaux, bird cherry), a good bitterness, spicy notes (liquorice, cardamom), menthol, a hint of toasted and fresh wood, hazelnut, pepper and violet. Beautiful acidity, salivating, balancing, Tannins are solid, a little grippy, but balanced.
