Château L’Argilus du Roi 2022 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose is gourmand elegant, beautifully fleshy, racy and powerful. It reveals notes of black pepper, cubeb pepper and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of wild raspberry, crushed red berries as well as hints of vanilla. The palate is beautifully structured, fresh, supple and offers a certain gourmandise, a tangy frame, accuracy as well as suppleness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh cassis, raspberry and small notes of cornflowers associated with touches of bright red berries, tobacco, cardamom as well as a hint of chocolate. A slightly powdery note on the finish. Good persistence. A beautifully fruity and gourmand wine with a discreet almost herbaceous, almost rosemary in the background. Good length.
