Château la Tour de By – Cuvée Petit Verdot 2022 – Médoc

The nose is « frank », pulpy, elegant and spicy, with harmony, a fine, relatively intense grain and a floral side. It reveals notes of boysenberry, violet small notes of fresh spices, associated with fine hints of varietal nobility, small wild berries and a discreet hint of pepper. The palate is well-built, supple, elegant and « frank », with minerality, fine unctuosity, gourmandise and precision. It expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, crushed redcurrant small notes of violet/lys, associated with touches of small wild berries, a hint, almost iris and fine hints of green pepper, mocha, racy minerality and graphene in the background. Tannins are fresh and sapid. Some darkness/austerity, but with elegance. Good work on the right bitters.
