Château Pontet Barrail 2022 – Médoc

The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of boysenberry, nutmeg and small notes of crushed wild strawberry associated with touches of elegant roasted berries as well as fine hints of tobacco, pulpy cassis as well as a hint of zan and a very discreet hint of black pepper in the background. The palate is beautifully built, supple, fresh and offers juiciness, gourmandise, a small fat, tension as well as a beautiful unctuous/pulpy texture. Energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, fleshy cherry and small notes of bright berries associated with a touch of cornflower, violet/lilac as well as fine hints of blond tobacco. Tannins are generous and sapid. Good length.
