The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers a lot of freshness, fruit and a fine tanginess, as well as a mineral touch. It expresses notes of crunchy strawberry, red cherry, red currant, elderberry, blackcurrant, and cranberries, crushed mint, bay leaf, fresh tobacco, wild flowers, rose hips, fresh rose and lilac, as well as a touch of sweet spices in the background (nutmeg, liquorice, cloves) and a hint of roasting (ground coffee). The palate is gourmand and well-built: it offers roundness, some sweetness and the juiciness of ripe fruits and a good structure of tannins, all in balance. We find more notes of black fruits than on the nose: crushed blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry, associated with flavors of red cherry, strawberry and ripe red currants, as well as a hint of cocoa, coffee, sweet spices (cloves, liquorice, nutmeg), fresh tobacco and flowers (dried rose, lilac). The finish is persistent, warming, with slight notes of cocoa and mint. Very pleasant velvety texture of tannins and a nice acidity.
