The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is airy, finely spicy and herbaceous and offers freshness and juiciness. It expresses the aromas of fresh peppermint (even eucalyptus), a touch of fresh basil, thyme, rosemary and oregano, liquorice, Sarawak pepper, toasted vanilla, grated nutmeg and cloves, combined with juicy fruits (fresh, ripe raspberry, bigareau cherry, morello cherry, redcurrant jelly, crushed blackcurrant, blueberry), as well as a refined floral bouquet (fresh rose, violet) and a touch of torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut). The palate is supple, enveloping, while remaining straight and firm, thanks to controlled power of tannins and good bitterness. We find the flavors of ripe morello cherry, tangy bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry, crunchy strawberry, wild plum, crushed blackcurrant and cranberries, associated with a smoky and slightly bitter hint of bergamot, with herbaceous notes (dried mint, thyme, rosemary, a touch of sage), floral (violet, a touch of rose and peony) and a tasty spiciness (roasted vanilla, liquorice, coriander seeds, nutmeg). The finish is long, savoury and gourmand, with notes of chocolate cherry and dark chocolate with mint and a beautiful freshness, brought by a salivating acidity. The tannins are firm, grippy, but enveloped.
