Mannucci Droandi, Ceppeto 2017 – Chianti Classico Riserva

Mannucci Droandi, Ceppeto 2017 – Chianti Classico Riserva

(organic) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is textured, gourmand and deep, with a slight sweetness in the aromas. It expresses notes of roasted red cherry, candied and fresh morello cherry, raspberry coulis, wild strawberry, crushed fresh blackcurrant, as well as crushed peppermint, fresh basil, fresh thyme, a refined spiciness (liquorice, ground white pepper, grated nutmeg, cardamom), a fine floral bouquet (fresh rose, peony, lilac), as well as delicate developing aromas in harmony with the profile of the wine (dried flowers, tobacco, wet leaves, a touch of mushrooms). The palate offers a juicy, fruity and slightly sweet attack. The mid-palate expresses the controlled power of the tannins with a firm structure, but a fine and powdery texture. We find the flavors of candied red cherry, ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed blackcurrant, as well as a sweet hint of dark chocolate, chocolate cherry, spicy notes (roasted vanilla, liquorice, nutmeg, cardamom), floral (rose, peony, lilac) and integrated tertiary nuances (undergrowth, tobacco, a hint of leather). The finish expresses the dryness of the tannins, balanced by the juiciness of the fruity substance and a beautiful acidity. The finish is sapid, savoury, with gourmand notes of bitter chocolate, chocolate cherry, chocolate prunes and crème de cassis. Beautiful complexity, which combines maturity and freshness.
