The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is closed and discreet – the wine benefits from being airated. It expresses the aromas of ripe morello cherry, wild blackberry, wild strawberry, wild raspberry, black plum, a touch of cherry in kirsch and prunes with alcohol in the background, as well as a savoury spiciness (liquorice, ground cumin, nutmeg, pink pepper), herbaceous (peppermint, fresh basil, bay leaf, rosemary) and floral notes (fresh flowers – rose, peony, iris), as well as a hint of balsamic and fresh black olive in the background. The palate is straight, firm, with powdery and fine, but structured tannins. It expresses the juicy and tangy notes of bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry, crunchy strawberry, cranberry juice, crushed blackcurrant and blueberry, complemented by notes of fresh peppermint, dried basil, dry pine needles (in the background), with a fine spicy (licorice, white pepper, nutmeg) and floral (rose, peony, cornflower) notes. The finish is tight, a bit astringent. Beautiful salivating acidity and a good bitterness of bergamot and cranberries in the background.
