The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic and expresses a juicy and fleshy fruity substance, as well as a fragrant floral bouquet. We find notes of ripe strawberry, morello cherry, redcurrant jelly, a touch of crushed blackberry and blueberry, as well as black plum and raspberry, associated with notes of peony and lilac, as well as a fine spiciness (liquorice, nutmeg), a touch of dried rosemary and a racy minerality (limestone) in the background. On the palate, the attack is chiselled, a bit tight and expresses grippy tannins and good bitterness. In the mid-palate, we find flavors of bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry, cranberries, crushed blueberry and tart strawberry, combined with notes of liquorice, rosemary, peony and lilac. The finish is quite persistent, tangy, slightly dry due to the tannin structure, and adds refreshing notes of dried mint to the wine’s bouquet. A lively wine, a little tight, but juicy and airy.
