The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose expresses distinct, but integrated, roasted notes of torrefaction: we find in particular the aromas of roasted cherry, roasted bouquet garni, roasted coriander seeds, as well as a very subtle touch of roasted meat and smoke in the background. After aeration, the wine expresses notes of crushed strawberries, ripe raspberries, morello cherries, red currant jelly, as well as liquorice, nutmeg, dried mint, rose and violet. The palate is chiselled, tangy, but offers great concentration and the juiciness of fresh fruit. It expresses notes of red cherry, wild strawberry, fresh red currant, crushed raspberry, combined with fine spicy (liquorice, white pepper), herbaceous (dried mint) and floral (rose, violet) notes. The finish offers tanginess of blackcurrant, good bitterness and salivating acidity. Good persistence and silky, slightly chocolaty tannins.
