Castelvecchio – Vigna La Quercia 2020 – Chianti Colli Fiorentini Riserva

The nose is elegant and harmonious. The wine needs to be decanted. There are notes of small wild red fruits and tobacco associated with a hint of “sense of the place” (local biotope) as well as discreet hints of cornflower and spices/nutmeg. Small creaminess with freshness and precision. The palate is suave and offers a slight pulpiness, a certain energy as well as an acidulous structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy cherry, flowers and small notes of acidulous raspberry associated with touches of tangy blackberry as well as fine hints of blackcurrant, cornflower and spices. Tannins are supple. A small patined side on the palate. Nice persistence. Powdery/fine chew on the finish brings gourmandize.
