The nose is spicy, frank, sappy and discreetly powdery / textured, with a hint of varnish. It expresses notes of violet, cooked blueberry and roasted cherry combined with hints of grey pepper, sap, rosemary and a dry, sappy side with discreet hints of clove. Benefits from decanting. The mouth is fruity, mineral, creamy, acidulous and offers tension, roundness, juiciness as well as a good acidity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy cherry, creamy cassis and small notes of small acidulous/juicy red berries combined with hints of violet, racy minerality as well as rosemary, slight clove hintss and a discreet hint of star anise and tobacco. Good length. Discreet hints of almost vanilla in the background. Sappy tannins.
