Château de Fontenelles Elysée 2021 – Corbières

Château de Fontenelles Elysée 2021 – Corbières

(Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre, aging in vats and barrels) The nose is gourmand and textured. It expresses notes of chocolate with mint, black plum, blackberry, morello cherry, a sweet touch of cocoa, as well as a fine floral bouquet (dried violet, dried rose). The palate is airy and fluid (in a good way), with a beautiful freshness of tangy fruits (red cherry, morello cherry, crunchy strawberry, dried blackcurrant), a touch of dried aromatic herbs. The mid-palate is straight and structured, with a subtle spiciness (liquorice, cloves). The tannins are tight, but fine and not dry. The finish is sapid, balanced, round, with an integrated woody notes and a touch of torrefaction (hazelnut, toasted almond) in the background.
