Château Bel Evêque Rouge 2021 – Corbières

Château Bel Evêque Rouge 2021 – Corbières

The wine has a deep ruby color. On the nose, it is rich, dense and excessive. We find notes of black plum (with a touch of prunes), wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, wild strawberry jam, crushed black fig, dried blackcurrant and red currant jam, associated with gourmet and smooth touches of dark chocolate, cocoa, torrefaction (coffee, toast) and a nuance of sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon, liquorice, cloves). On the palate, the wine offers a well-built structure, straight and enveloped in a rich and fresh fruitiness. The tannins are powerful, enveloping, slightly firm, but silky. The flavors are round and gourmand. We find notes of morello cherry, wild strawberry, red cherry jam, raspberry coulis, dried blackcurrant, black plum, chocolate, cocoa, as well as notes of savoury sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla, licorice) and a touch of wood and integrated hint of torrefaction (heated wood, coffee). A nice acidity balances the richness of the wine and gives it a straight and chiseled structure. A great wine, with beautiful complexity, with  opened, gourmand and warming aromas and with freshness on the palate.
