Blondus Ricardus 2021 – Corbières

Blondus Ricardus 2021 – Corbières

(Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Grenache) The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is textured and gourmand, even slightly sweet, balanced by an expressive minty touch. It expresses notes of ripe fruit with a touch of jam (griotte, red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant jelly, blackberry, black plum), Mediterranean herbs (dried thyme, dried rosemary), a spicy touch of liquorice and clove, as well as a distinct saline maritime character. On the palate, the wine also expresses a gourmet fruitiness, associated with minerality and salinity. We find notes of morello cherry, red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, black plum and blueberry, associated with touches of dried fruit (dried cherry, dried strawberry), a savoury herbaceous hint (dried mint, thyme, rosemary), as well as a pronounced spiciness (black pepper, cloves, nutmeg). The tannins are structured, firm and need to melt. A refined wine, with a maritime character, with a beautiful freshness and acidity that needs time to develop.
