Biondi-Santi 2018 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

Biondi-Santi 2018 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The nose is fruity, racy, elegant, with a lovely breadth of the palette, freshness and a sense of place. It expresses notes of pulpy cherry, crushed raspberry and, more lightly, undergrowth associated with touches of cornflower, crushed red berries as well as fine hints of mandarin, olive tree and a delicate hint of violet, and sweet rose as well as discreet hints of wild pepper. The palate is beautifully structured, supple, fresh, racy, and offers minerality, a tangy frame, tension, accuracy, suppleness, good definition, indulgence, elegance, precision, a lovely delicacy and silkiness of the grain. It expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, pulpy/juicy raspberry and more lightly – hazelnut, toasted, a hint of toasted almond, softness, fresh lilac, violet, as well as an almost fresh mandarin hint and a discreet hint of fresh local grove and fresh balsamic. Good length. The tannins are soft and gour;qnd, suave. Lovely little chew and gour;qndise. All in finesse, freshness and tangy, energy and a lot of delicacy.
