Biondi Santi 2022 – Rosso di Montalcino: The nose is beautifully fruity, elegant, gourmand, precise, with good definition. It expresses notes of creamy blackberry, crushed redcurrants and, more slightly, blueberry associated with touches of star anise, licorice stick, as well as plums, a hint of bright cherry, as well as discreet and elegant hints of roasted fruit as well as discreet hints of cherry pit. The palate is beautifully structured, supple, fresh, with brightness and purity, gourmandize, a tangy frame. It expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bigarreau cherry and, more slightly, bright redcurrant associated with touches of blueberry, star anise, salinity, graphene, as well as fine hints of sweet blond tobacco. Good length, nice persistence and gourmandize. Beautifully crafted, velvety and delicate. Beautiful structure, power and richness, all with precision and control. Airy, delicate hints of almost ripe blue fruit and a hint of olive.
