Taferner – ZW/ME/CS 2022 Göttlesbrunn 1ÖTW – Carnuntum

The first nose is aromatic with a mix of black fruits such as black cherry and sweet spices. We feel the barrel ageing with a bit of vanilla and also toast. It is a little bit sweet. The second nose is fresh, almost minty, with a nice red fruits definition coming. We still have the black fruits and a nice integration of the barrel. The mouth is fresh and fruity. We have a dry attack with red and black fruits such as strawberry and black currant. The tannins are present, soft. The acidity is salivating but not too high. The barrel, in the background, is a linear note. The finish is a bit astringent with black cherry, vanilla and bold tobacco. There is a nice balance and complexity. It is fresh fruit oriented and long at the end. Nice wine.
