Château Laniote 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

Château Laniote 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is nicely structured, fresh, with depth, a fine intensity and a nice delicate peppery side. It has a very tight grain. There are notes of creamy boysenberry, sweet pepper and small notes of concentrated blackcurrant, associated with touches of aromatic herbs, tobacco as well as hints of clove and vanilla. The palate is fruity, with freshness, juiciness, smoothness, a lovely freshness and a certain concentration of the fruit, a slight darkness and an infusion side. It reveals a lovely minerality which carries the wine, with a fine floral side in the background. We find notes of concentrated blackcurrant, creamy blackberry and slight notes of purple plum, associated with touches of violet/lily, aromatic herbs, as well as spices, small roasted wild fruits and touches of cornflower, sage and a hint of balsamic. Good length. Tannins are racy. A hint of cocoa bitterness on the finish, with a nice persistence.
