Château Peby Faugères 2022 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

(25th harvest) The nose is fruity and offers a lovely fine grain, elegant, intense and frank. The wine would benefit from being decanted because it is currently slightly tight. The nose expresses notes of wild blackberry, crushed blackcurrant and small notes of fresh liquorice stick, fresh clove as well as a hint of almost Mediterranean barrier, infusion, black olive and vanilla. The palate is fruity, spherical and offers juiciness, freshness, minerality, a fresh frame, tension, accuracy, suppleness, volume, energy, depth. It expresses notes of concentrated blackberry, crushed blackcurrant and small notes of wild strawberry associated with lovely saline touches as well as hints of sense of the place / Mediterranean barrier, aromatic herbs, roasting, toasted, anise, black olive and chocolate. Good length. Tannins are elegant, tasty and mellow. Nice minerality and freshness. Nice mellow grain and a little chewiness on the finish and saline persistence.
