Caparzo 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

Caparzo 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The nose is gourmand, chocolatey and roasted, refined, with a beautiful complexity. It first expresses aromas of roasted morello cherry, dark chocolate, sweet spices – liquorice, a hint of vanilla, cardamom), associated with a light tertiary touch (dried tobacco, undergrowth, a hint of truffles in the background), dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, dried mint), dried rose, cornflower and fresh fruits (red cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, a hint of blackberry), which bring juiciness. The palate is fresh, tangy, with a beautiful salivating acidity, finely tight and refined tannins. It expresses a beautiful fresh fruitiness (red cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry, raspberry), a hint of coffee bitterness and less perceptible tertiary notes (tobacco and undergrowth in the background). Good length on the tanginess of bigarreau cherry and a good bitterness of coffee, with tannins tightening more towards the end of the mouth. A refined and chiseled wine, but closed for the moment.
