The nose is elegant, racy/identical, with beautiful depth and controlled power. It reveals notes of nutmeg, spices and, small notes, blackberry, combined with touches of ripe small fruits as well as a hint of tobacco, green cardamom and toasted notes. The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, and mineral, offering gourmandise, roundness, suppleness, and beautiful definition. It combines power and roundness, with accuracy, finesse and a certain righteousness. We find notes of juicy and pulpy blackberry, blackcurrant, and, small notes, bright cherry, associated with a touch of small fleshy/juicy red fruits as well as hints of star anise, tobacco, nutmeg and toasted hazelnut. Good length and nice mellowness with hints of mocha and crushed hazelnut. Tannins are nicely mellow, offering a nice chewiness on the finish. Persistence.
