Domaine Simon Blanchard – Au champ de la fenêtre 2022 – Montagne Saint-Emilion

The nose is aromatic, powerful, with a slight creaminess, a nice depth and a nice texture. There are notes of wild blackberry, graphene and, small notes, Madagascar pepper, associated with touches of small roasted and elegant red berries (with almost a little Mediterranean side), as well as fine smoky hints of tobacco, small crushed blue fruits and a subtle, almost balsamic note. The palate is fruity, fresh, with minerality, a tangy structure, energy and a slight bite, while maintaining a certain airiness in its concentration. It offers power and accuracy, with a racy, discreetly tight grain. We find notes of boysenberry, small roasted and elegant red berries accompanied by licorice and touches of violet, small bright red fruits, as well as a hint of tobacco, balsamic and a subtle touch of toasted hazelnut and cloves. Tannins are mellow and tasty. Pretty mellow and persistent, with a very discreet citrus note on the finish.
