Vieux Château Palon 2022 – Montagne Saint-Emilion

The nose is spicy, frank, with a certain power and harmony. There are notes of coffee, blackberry and ripe wild berries, combined with touches of Sichuan pepper, cloves, cinnamon and tobacco. There is a discreet hint of rotie-elegance and almost sage. The palate is fruity, with juiciness and freshness. It has good definition, beautiful freshness and tension, with a sharp side in its freshness. We perceive notes of blackberry, juicy/fresh wild blackcurrant and ripe purple plum, as well as touches of clove, incense, nutmeg, cornflower, sweet blond tobacco and a hint of vanilla. Good length, with mellow and elegant tannins. Nice substance and balance, with contained power and skillful use of spices.
