(80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is perfumed, woody and minty at first. It expresses notes of fresh wood, toasted hazelnut, fresh hazelnut, pine needles (even a sappy touch of pine bark and sap), combined with aromas of sweet spices (liquorice with a hint of star anise, nutmeg and crushed white pepper). We then find notes of red cherry, fresh strawberry, morello cherry, red currant and raspberry, combined with a fragrant floral bouquet of violet and peony, as well as a delicate hint of balsamic. The palate is tight, tannic and slightly bitter, with firm and grippy tannins, balanced by a sharp and salivating acidity. There are also bitter notes of bird cherry, cranberries, as well as the delicacy of morello cherry, blackcurrant, blackberry and redcurrant. The herbaceous and spicy notes on the palate is fresh and integrated – we can feel the notes of blackcurrant leaf, tea leaf, liquorice and crushed white pepper. Good persistence on the palate on the tanginess of red cherry and a hint of balsamic.
