Tellus 2022 – Montagne Saint-Emilion

Tellus 2022 – Montagne Saint-Emilion

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose offers accuracy, precision and a fresh tangy frame. It opens with menthol and sappy aromas (wild mint, fresh pine needles, a touch of pine sap), then complemented by notes of crushed blueberry, red cherry, blackcurrant, morello cherry, black plum and fresh blackberry, as well as liquorice (even star anise), white pepper, nutmeg, smoke and a racy minerality (limestone and clay). The attack on the palate is silky, airy, with lots of freshness, juiciness and a slight sweet hint of red fruit jam. We find notes of red cherry, crunchy strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, associated with a good bitterness of bird cherry, with sappy notes (pine needles, pine sap) and spicy notes (liquorice, star anise nutmeg). We also find a herbaceous touch of blackcurrant leaves on the persistence. Tannins have a fine grain and a grippy, slightly dry texture. A chiseled wine, with freshness and sharp acidity. Good persistence in the mouth, with an expressive flavor of red cherry.
