Breaux Vineyards – 2017 Meritage

The nose is fruity, airy and offers concentration, precision, a nice finesse of the grain as well as a fine stretched side. It reveals notes of blackberry, bright cassis and small notes of camphor associated with touches of quite ripe raspberry as well as hints of pepper. The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, well-balanced and offers minerality, a juicy/acidulous frame, pulpiness as well as brilliance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright blueberry, crushed raspberry and small notes of crushed cherry associated with touches of fleshy cassis, violet, hints of smoke, camphor, cranberry, graphite as well as roasting hints and a very discreet sappy hint/sense of place (local biotope). Good length. A saline hint in the background on the finish/persistence. Deepness, gourmandize and density.
