Offley 2022 – Vintage Porto

(Bottled: 2024) The nose is powerful, frank and offers intensity. It reveals notes of kirsch cherry, candied blueberry and small notes of Timut pepper associated with fine touches of small red fruits, dried zest as well as fine hints of cherry blossom, a hint of cornflower, liquorice and a subtle hint of coffee. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, tension, a stretched side as well as verticality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of kirsch cherry, candied strawberry and small notes of redcurrant jelly associated with touches of bright cassis, fine hints of tobacco, smoke as well as a hint of graphene and toasted hints. Tannins are currently very slightly tight and require time. Presence of a hint of colas and pâtisseries on the finish/persistence. Good persistence.
