Augustali – La Vigna 2022, Nero D’Avola – Sicilia DOC

(AB) The nose is fruity and offers density, richness, concentration in control. It expresses notes of roasted-crushed redcurrants, roasted-crushed raspberry and small notes of blackcurrant associated with touches of concentrated small red berries, smoke, iodine, olive tree and discreet hints of tobacco, graphene, black olive and toasted hazelnut. The palate is fruity and offers accuracy, purity, a long/stretched side, straightness, a certain concentration in accuracy. It expresses notes of pulpy black cherry, fleshy/juicy redcurrants, tangy raspberry, associated with touches of tangy/pulpy purple plum, mocha, smoke roasting, almost grilled/cooked aromatic herbs as well as hints of black pepper, infusion, black olive and a subtle hint of liquorice stick. The tannins are tasty, soft and sapid and juicy. Good length and persistence. Purity, nicely defined/chiseled in its structure. A pleasant wine.
