The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is closed – the wine needs aeration. It then expresses juicy, gourmet, even sweet fruity notes (wild strawberry, ripe morello cherry, raspberry coulis, red cherry and blackcurrant), associated with notes of sweet spices (licorice, white pepper, cumin), a delicate hint of chocolate and toasted hazelnut, as well as iris and peony. The palate is fruity, supple and ripe, with a gourmet hint of jammy fruits. It expresses notes of juicy morello cherry, red cherry jam in the background, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry and blackcurrant, associated with a fine spicy side (white pepper, liquorice, an almost imperceptible hint of vanilla), bitterness of coffee, toasted hazelnut, as well as a floral hint (violet, lily). The tannins are powdery, fine, well-structured and slightly bitter. The finish is persistent, with notes of fresh red fruits and a lively acidity and a fine toasted nuance that returns on the persistence.
