The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is reserved at first, but offers a tangy hint of fruit, as well as a discreet meaty and balsamic touch after aeration. It expresses notes of tart red cherry, raspberry, red currants, blueberry and blackcurrant in the background, combined with a hint of crushed mint and white pepper. The palate expresses juicy, slightly sweeter fruits: ripe morello cherry, crushed raspberry, blackcurrant, a hint of ripe red cherry, combined with touches of white pepper, smoke (in the background), liquorice. The finish is moderately persistent, with good bitterness, lively acidity and a herbaceous hint of blackcurrant leaf on the persistence. The tannins are rather well structured, slightly grippy, but not drying.
