Domaine de l’Amandine « Bel Air » 2020 – Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is very fruity at first, even a bit jammy. It expresses notes of crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis, fresh and jammy red currants, roasted red plum, blackberry, as well as morello cherry in chocolate and ripe morello cherry. On the second nose, we find aromas of sweet spices (clove, ground cumin associated with a distinct hint of ground nutmeg), toasted oak (a very discreet note in the background), flowers (peony, dried rose, violet in the background) and dried aromatic herbs (dried thyme, dried rosemary), associated with a subtle touch of roasting (coffee, toasted almond, which brings a touch of bitterness) and balsamic. The palate is juicy, round and suave, with a good bitterness and a tangy side of red fruits on the attack (raspberry, red cherry). Then, it expresses gourmet flavors of juicy blackberry, crushed blackcurrant (even crème de cassis), redcurrant jelly and roasted red plum, associated with a melted woody hint (sweet coffee; toasted almond, toasted oak in the background), with chocolatey touches (chocolate morellocherry), spicy (nutmeg, clove, liquorice) and slightly floral. Good persistence, slightly mentholated, with a nice acidity and bitterness. The tannins are smooth and mellow. Good concentration and a certain complexity.
