Les Pélerins de Lafon Rochet 2023 – Saint-Estèphe

A lovely fresh, fruity, textured, beautifully gourmand nose, with a certain breadth and a fine softness. It expresses notes of pulpy wild strawberry boysenberry and more slightly – of bright raspberry, associated with touches of racy minerality/dry gravel, as well as fine hints of liquorice stick, cornflower and a subtle hint of sap. The palate is beautifully fresh, mineral, balanced, beautifully racy and offers gourmandise, a lovely softness on the finish, salinity/iodine, and a fine floral/sappy side. It expresses notes of juicy/fresh blackberry, bright raspberry and more slightly – of fleshy/juicy strawberry, associated with a touch of blackcurrant, infusion, cornflower, as well as hints of tonka bean and fine hints of toast and almost coffee. Good length. Savory, soft and delicious tannins.
