Anthony Girard Le Chêne Fourchu 2022 – Sancerre

Anthony Girard Le Chêne Fourchu 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color with slight green reflections. The nose offers density, tangy concentration and a fresh and pleasant herbaceous hint. It expresses notes of blackcurrant leaf (associated with a touch of green beans in the background), gooseberries, passion fruit, lemon zest, lemon juice, grapefruit, white peach and tangy apricot. We also find a distinguished minerality (limestone, chalk), delicate woody and spicy notes (fresh wood, toasted wood in the background, nutmeg, clove), as well as a touch of flower honey, wax and white flowers (acacia, linden, chamomile infusion). The palate offers a straight and tangy attack, with notes of fresh lemon, grapefruit, green apple and gooseberries, balanced by a gourmand mid-palate, with the roundness of stone fruits (apricot, white peach) and a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, cloves, a very delicate touch of vanilla in the background). In the finish, we find a good bitterness of lime zest, a touch of flower honey and fragrant white flowers (acacia, linden, chamomile). Nice persistence, with a lively and salivating acidity and a hint of toasted wood and fresh wood which appears at the very end of the palate.
