ean-Max Roger La Côte de Bué 2019 – Sancerre

The wine has a lemon yellow color, of medium intensity, with golden reflections. The nose is juicy, fruity, floral and honeyed. It expresses the aromas of ripe stone fruits (apricot, yellow peach, yellow nectarine), linden honey, wax in the background, as well as fragrant white flowers (acacia, fresh lime, fresh chamomile, elderberry syrup, honeysuckle). After aeration, we find notes of fresh bitter orange, candied lime, grapefruit, candied lemon peel, as well as spices (saffron, nutmeg, cloves, ground cumin), toasted hazelnut, bitter almond, a sweet touch of toasted wood and vanilla, as well as very light tertiary touches of wilted flowers and tobacco. The palate offers complexity, sapidity, good bitterness and lively acidity, combined with delicious and sweet notes of chestnut honey. It expresses the flavors of very ripe yellow peach, juicy apricot, mango, melon, passion fruit, as well as pineapple, candied lemon peel, the bitterness of chestnut honey and candied grapefruit, combined with notes of wax, linden infusion, fresh chamomile, apple blossom, as well as spicy touches of saffron, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla in the background, torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, toasted wood, bitter almond) and tertiaries of tobacco and wilted flowers in the background. The finish is very long, sapid, with good bitterness, a vertical and firm tangy frame and good bitterness. A complex and rich wine, with energy and tension.
