Jean-Max Roger Grand Chemarin 2020 – Sancerre

Jean-Max Roger Grand Chemarin 2020 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. On the nose, the wine is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses the delicious and sweet notes of yellow peach, apricot, mango, chestnut honey, associated with aromas of grapefruit zest, lime jam, blood orange, as well as white flowers (dried linden, dried chamomile, acacia), spices (nutmeg, a touch of saffron), roasted background (fresh hazelnut, toasted hazelnut, toasted wood), green apple and a hint of calcareous minerality. The palate offers woody and spicy notes on the attack (fresh wood, toasted, even caramelized hazelnut, a touch of vanilla, nutmeg and saffron), combined with gourmand and sweet flavors of flower honey, wax, ripe yellow peach, crushed apricot, roasted apple in the background, lime jam, candied lemon peel, grapefruit, as well as white flowers (acacia, apple blossoms, linden, flower syrup elderberry). The finish is very long and complex, with an expressive honey note that returns at the very end of the mouth. Salivating acidity and good bitterness bring freshness and balance to the wine. Beautiful depth, complexity, density and a precise tangy structure.
