Domaine Vacheron Les Romains 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is fragrant, fresh and fruity. The first nose expresses notes of green apple, yellow lemon and green plum, associated with the second nose with notes of tangy apricot, white peach, as well as a tangy citrusy aromas (lime zest, grapefruit). Then, we find floral notes of chamomile, acacia and apple blossom, a hint of flower honey, hay, fresh hazelnut, butter and vanilla in the background, associated with a limestone and slightly saline minerality. The palate offers volume and gourmandise in flavors of yellow peach, apricot and yellow plum, freshness and tanginess in notes of green lemon and lemon zest, elegance and airiness of flowers (acacia, linden, apple blossom), as well as liveliness and a dry touch of chalky minerality. In the mid-palate, we also find a good bitterness of grapefruit zest and a gourmand hint of honey and wax. The finish is persistent, mineral (slightly dry) and dynamic, with tension and salivating acidity. It also adds notes of fresh hazelnut and butter to the wine’s profile.
