Pierre Prieur & Fils, Les Mons Damnés 2022 – Sancerre

Pierre Prieur & Fils, Les Mons Damnés 2022 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color, with silver reflections. The first nose is reserved, but expresses concentration and juiciness of stone fruits (white peach, white nectarine). On the second nose, the wine expresses the tangy side of fresh citrus fruits (yellow lemon, lime), as well as a gourmet touch of candied lime peel, crushed green apple, fresh white melon and kiwi. We also find floral notes of acacia and apple blossom, a pronounced minerality (limestone rock, gunflint, dry gravel), as well as a hint of yeast and dried lime. The palate offers tension on attack, a tangy and chiseled hint of fresh citrus and green fruits (yellow lemon, lime, green plum, green apple), floral scents (acacia, lime), as well as mineral notes of limestone and smoke, combined with notes of dried white flowers. The finish has energy and liveliness, salivating acidity and lots of freshness. A lively, tense and concentrated wine.
