Taboadella 1255 Jaen Reserva 2021 – Dão

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers density and juiciness. It expresses the aromas of tangy black fruits (blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry), associated with notes of red cherry and red plum, a fragrant and airy floral side (peony, lilac, lily), a distinguished mineral framework (dry stone, granite, graphite), a bitter hint of cocoa and a delicate spicy side (liquorice, ground cumin, white pepper), as well as a hint of dried thyme. The palate is airy, with delicacy and lightness. It expresses notes of fresh red and black fruits (morello cherry, red cherry, blueberry, red plum), fresh flowers (peony, lily, lilac), mineral notes of granite and dry stone, as well as a spicy hint of licorice, white pepper and cumin. The tannins are enveloping, slightly drying, but silky and enveloped in a juicy fruity substance and a beautiful acidity. The finish is quite persistent, spicy, cocoa and slightly herbaceous (roasted thyme and rosemary).
