Tenuta Luce 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino

Tenuta Luce 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is bright and fragrant, with pronounced herbaceous aromas and a racy minerality. We find notes of limestone, dry stone, aromatic herbs (fresh bay leaf, roasted bouquet garni, sage, fresh rosemary, oregano, mint in the background), flowers (dried lavender, dried rose, dried cornflower), a material dense and concentrated fruity notes (black plum, even prunes, morello cherry, fresh wild strawberry, bigarreau cherry, a touch of cranberries and bergamot), as well as savoury spicy notes (nutmeg, licorice, crushed cloves, crushed coriander seeds ) and a touch of torrefaction (coffee, chocolate, toasted almond). The palate offers a juicy and gourmand attack, with lots of fruit and a slightly sweet hint (fresh morello cherry, morello cherry in chocolate, crushed blackberry, black plum, even with a side of chocolate prunes, fresh wild strawberry), associated with notes herbaceous notes of crushed peppermint, fresh tobacco, rosemary, oregano and sage, with a floral touch of cornflower and dried lavender, a hint of balsamic cream, an integrated spiciness (liquorice, pink pepper seeds crushed, white pepper, cumin) and a touch of torrefaction (coffee, bitter almond). The tannins are generous and envelopping, grippy and firm, but with a powdery and velvety texture. Nice acidity, good bitterness and persistence on fresh and candied fruits on the finish. A dense and complex wine, which will express itself in the future.
